  1. I love the wisdom offered by all these quotes. All quotes seemed made toward kid/child students and none mentioned adult students. Out of my curiosity, what are the major distinctions between kid/child students and adult students?

    Thanks.

    1. Hello Vic!

Thank you for your interest in pianopedagogy.org. The quick answer is… “there ARE no major distinctions.” Any of these quotes will apply to adults students as well as children. While my approach remains similar when working with adults, I put a special emphasis on piano technique, as the adult student will progress at a more rapid pace with music reading and we want to make sure all skills develop at a similar rate. Also, some adults become impatient with themselves but then learn to enjoy the process. Hope that helps.
