Efficient Use of Language

Beginning teachers sometimes struggle with the ratio of teacher talking and student experiencing. How can we use our words in an efficient and effective way?  In these two videos, the feedback is brief, but communicative.  It is also evident that the teacher, Rebecca Pennington,  persists until the student has achieved the desired results:
