NCKP Anticipation

I will never forget my first experience at NCKP (The National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy).  I remember excitedly telling friends and family: “This is the best conference I have ever been to!”  I felt I learned much from each session and came away from the experience with new ideas and inspiration to add to my teaching for the year.

This year, I am eagerly awaiting my flight to Chicago for NCKP 2015.  The program looks to be stellar!  I am looking forward to thought-provoking keynote speakers, excellent performances, and workshops that will give me tools for the “how-to” questions of teaching.  There are sessions that cover a wide range of music–from classical to pop, from reading to rote teaching.

Each night, I am eager to immerse myself in the evening concerts.  The opportunity to hear Sean Chen is a special one indeed!  And, I can’t wait for the banquet honoring Ingrid Clarfield and Dennis Alexander–two of our field’s great pedagogues.

If you haven’t already done so, register now for NCKP.  You won’t regret it!
